2022 Laird Family Pinot Noir 'Phantom Ranch'

100% Pinot from the Phantom ranch vineyard in the warmer Napa side of Carneros. The site got its name from vineyard workers that had reported seeing children between the rows of vines, and when approached, they would vanish. Far Niente, Cakebread, and Rombauer buy from this vineyard. Aged 10.5 months in 40% new French oak. 14.6% alcohol. 329 cases made. Full bodied, lush and richly textured while still being balanced. Aromas of Bing cherry, sweet cranberry, and baking spices from the oak. The mouthfeel is well-structured with supple tannins and lively acidity. There are juicy notes of ripe plum, tree sap, and rhubarb. Drink now – 2030.
