100% organic Gamay from the single Fromentaux vineyard. Fermented on the skins in concrete, then rested for a short while in neutral oak, followed by bottling, which is both unfiltered and unfined, and with minimal sulfur. Moulin-à-Vent, named after a 300 year old stone windmill, is one of the most famous of the ten Beaujolais cru, known for the structure and tannin that the pink granite and manganese soils give to the wine. The 2022 vintage was quite warm, and gave us a fruit-filled version of this wine, packed with black cherry, raspberry, violet florals, granite rockiness and pink peppercorn notes. Ready to drink now due to the warm vintage but will continue to develop for another 5+ years.
