100% Chardonnay- this is 80% estate fruit from the villages of Chablis, Fyé, Maligny & Beine. Average vine age is 30+ years and all vines are certified organic and dry farmed. Fermented with native yeasts in steel- full (natural) malolactic and all steel aging. Marked by a smoky minerality, bitter pear and tart apple, yet the mouthfeel is rich and ripe with juicy citrus notes. Full on the palate with a saline acidity and a versatile flinty tension that balances the entire wine. Beautifully textured- this wine drinks well above the Petit designation. There are records confirming that the Laroche family owned vineyards in Chablis dating back to the late 17th century. After selling the hugely successful Domaine Laroche, brand, Michel Laroche, along with his children Margaux and Romain and his wife Cécile, settled down to farm these historic inherited vineyards.
