"This is a wine from a producer in the Girasole portfolio.  We have the Pinot Grigio, Rondinella and the Belle Bolle sparkling rosé from them as well – and these are all some of our most popular wines.  To remind you, Paula and Marc came to this wine at the recommendation of one of their contacts in Italy. We had been looking for a really good, easy-drinking red at a great price so they had been asking their contacts in Italy for any suggestions. When they came across this wine, they immediately asked for sample bottles to be sent to them in Los Gatos. They scheduled a meeting and had a group of us in to taste the wine – and it was unanimously given a BIG two thumbs up by everyone, so the deal was done. We recently tasted this new vintage, which is always a fairly tense moment because you always wonder and worry if the wine turns out to be as good as the previous vintage. Luckily, the Righetti family owns the vineyards and oversees the farming, so there is a high level of control (and therefore consistency) here. The wine is EASILY as good as the previous vintages. I hope you like this new vintage as much as we do – this is one of those wines to buy by the case, IMHO. I already have!

As a side note, this is one of the wineries that we visited on our trip to Italy back in January. The Righetti family were wonderful hosts and though they have a fairly large facility for a family-owned operation, their dedication and commitment to quality winemaking was truly impressive. Great people, great family, great wines."- Mike Guerra

Corvina, Rondinella and Merlot. Macerated on the skins for about 2 weeks to enhance the characteristics of the grapes. Alcoholic spontaneous fermentation is followed by a second maceration to enrich the bouquet and give more structure to the wine. After racking and pressing the wine complete the malolatic fermentation. Fermented in stainless steel for 6 months before bottling.

Red fruit aroma of raspberry, blackberry and light herbaceous nuances. Floral hints of violets and roses. Soft and pleasant, round and juicy on the palate.
