100% Dolcetto, a grape from Piedmont in northwestern Italy, from this CCOF certified organic, dry farmed 27-acre vineyard in Mendocino County, just off Old River Road in Ukiah, farmed on Pinole Gravelly Loam with noticeable slope. Fermented with native yeasts and partial carbonic maceration. Aged in 2-5 year old oak for 8 months. 12.5% alcohol. This wine leads with bright, juicy red-and-blue fruit - think strawberry, plum, and a darker berry note that reads more “fresh-picked” than “cooked.” The aromatics have extra lift and charm, with a subtle floral or herbal edge that keeps it interesting. On the palate it’s light to medium-bodied, energetic, and genuinely refreshing for a red, with that “crunchy” tannin texture that makes it feel snappy rather than soft. The finish is clean, lightly savory, and extremely food-friendly.
