2022 Vincent Ledy Bourgogne Rouge Vieilles Vignes 'Les Combes'

100% Ecocert certified organic Pinot Noir from a tiny, 1/5 acre plot located in Flagey-Echezaux just opposite of Clos de Vougeot. The exact age of the vines is undetermined, but they are at least 60-70 years old. 100% destemmed. Fermented without sulfur (minimal at bottling). Aged for 18 months in used barrels (four years or more). This is a pure, terroir-driven style with intense fruit (strawberry, raspberry), floral notes (roses), forest floor, and vibrant tension. There’s also  savory musky black currant and black cherry notes. It’s delicious now, particularly following a decant of an hour or so, and has the stuffing to age nicely for several years. Domaine Vincent Ledy is one of Burgundy’s really small domaines. Created in 2006, it still only covers slightly more than five acres.  There are six wines, all red, and the annual production is about 8500 bottles.
