100% certified organic Frappato. 11.5% alcohol. This distinctive dry sparkling red, refermented via the Martinotti method, takes its name from the vineyard’s southwest-facing exposure. The Horus estate is in Acate, very near COS and Occhipinti. The vineyards are located in the highly desirable Hyblaean Mountain range of Vittoria where the Nero d’Avola is grown. Licorice, cassis, and strawberry on the nose and palate, fine bubbles, and red fruit and slight earthiness on the finish, with good acidity and very light tannin. Like Lambrusco, but a bit lighter and fruitier. Serve chilled with charcuterie, cheese, pizza or burgers. The Giudice family has been farming here since 1974 and cultivates almost 250 acres, of which 75 are planted to grapes.
