100% certified organic Primitivo sourced from an own-rooted block of Primitivo planted in the early 1990s, this vineyard is dry-farmed and lovingly cared for by the same stewards who supply Chez Panisse’s legendary produce. Native yeast fermentation, aged in steel and neutral barrel. Bottled unfined and unfiltered with very low sulphur. 13.3% alcohol. 72 cases made. The nose bursts with violet, blackberry compote, cherry pipe tobacco, and a hint of blood orange rind. On the palate, bright raspberry and gravel are lifted by mouthwatering acidity, balanced by the comforting embrace of fine tannins. Long, long finish. Decant for an hour to enjoy this now- it was better for us on the second day open. These wines are small production and highly sought after- we’ll drink anything Hardy makes!
