A certified organic blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon grown on the historic Dianella estate in Vinci, Tuscany. The wine is fermented in stainless steel, with the Sangiovese aged in cement to preserve freshness and purity, while the Cabernet Sauvignon spends 10 months in French oak, primarily second-use barrels with a small percentage of new oak. The result is a wine that emphasizes fruit, balance, and drinkability rather than oak influence. Organic.
Tasting Notes
Medium-bodied, silky, and vibrant, offering aromas of ripe red cherry, violet, sweet herbs, and hints of cedar and cocoa. The palate is generous yet fresh, with a core of bright red fruit, soft, integrated tannins, and a clean, persistent finish. With air, the Cabernet Sauvignon contributes additional layers of blackberry and spice, while the wine remains firmly rooted in a dry, food-friendly Tuscan style.
Producer Info
Built in the 1200s, Dianella has served many roles over the centuries, including a Medici hunting lodge and later a creative retreat for celebrated Tuscan writer Renato Fucini. Today the estate is led by Veronica Passerin d'Entrèves, who has transformed Dianella into one of Tuscany's most thoughtful organic producers. Through certified organic farming, low-intervention cellar work, and small-lot production, the estate crafts wines that faithfully express the character of the hills surrounding Vinci.
