2023 Flâneur Chardonnay

100% Chardonnay, organically, biodynamically and dry farmed estate vineyards La Belle Promenade in the Chehalem Mountains and Flanerie in Ribbon Ridge.  Whole cluster pressed, fermented with native yeasts, and aged in 31% new French oak. 12.6% alcohol. 700 cases made. Awesome, super balanced nose of ripe pear, peach and lemon fruit, white flowers and creamy vanilla oak. Low alcohol but medium bodied, with fresh orchard and lemon fruit, medium-plus acidity and a bit of toasty but understated oak influence. Flâneur is the Willamette Valley project of Marty Doerschlag, who bought an old Carlton grain elevator from neighbor Ken Wright in 2013 and turned it into a winery in 2013.
