2023 Harper Oak Cabernet Sauvignon

90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Malbec. The “secret” unnamed vineyard is in Jimtown off of Highway 128, near some of the top vineyards in the area. Sitting on a bench above the Russian River at an altitude of nearly 300 feet, the vineyard is planted on clay and sandy loam soils that range in depth from 18 inches to 5 feet over compacted sandstone. Hand harvested and aged for 10 months in 10% new French oak. 14.5% alcohol. Fruit forward with a full body texture, the wine shows earthy aromas of cassis, mission figs, black cherry , hints of leather, dark chocolate, and toasted oak. Dry fine tannins balanced by a lush mouth-feel carries the velvety richness through a long, lingering finish. Excellent quality to price ratio on this “secret” wine.
