100% Zweigelt (an Austrian red varietal) from the Mokelumne Glen vineyard in Lodi. Organically farmed, native yeast fermentation, carbonic maceration for low alcohol, light tannins and ultimate chillability. 12.6% alcohol. 187 cases made. Pours a dark, translucent purple and smells like sour cherry, black cherries, raspberry and blackberry with an undertone of tea leaves and hibiscus. High acidity, low but slightly grippy tannins. Chill this down and have it with barbecue, roasted veggies, burgers, or a day in the pool. This is the project of husband and wife team Drew Huffine and Emily Virgil. Drew is currently the winemaker at LIOCO and has worked at Copain, DuMOL, Kosta Brown and Tuck Beckstoffer.
