100% Sauvignon Blanc from 25-30 year old vines in the eastern Loire town of Pouilly-sur-Loire. Farming is HVE3 certified sustainable and the sixteen different parcels represent the region’s diverse terroirs—Kimmeridgian marl, calcaires de Villiers, and terres blanches. Aged for 6 months on the lees with two to three stirrings. 12.5% alcohol. 3,000 cases made. The classic Sauvignon Blanc characteristics are present, but understated—floral notes, subtle citrus, a cool grassiness—and there’s a chalkiness so textural you can feel it as you taste. The overall impression is not of brash, over-the-top flavors, but of poise and refinement. Acidity is high but balanced and the wine overall feels round, smooth and lingering. Régis Minet’s grandfather was a barrel maker and grew grapes to make wine for his family until Régis went full time in 1976. His stepdaughter, Lucia Mineur-Billet now runs the estate.
