100% Moscato from a single vineyard in Castiglione Tinella. Farming is practicing organic. Hand harvested. 5.5% alcohol. 6,000 cases made. Slightly sweet, a bit tart, perfectly fizzy, and refreshingly fruity. Like apricots in syrup, with a hint of rose water, and a zippy drizzle of Meyer lemon. As a summer sipper, Moscato is without peer. Great with melon and prosciutto (a classic combination), it is also a superb light dessert wine, perfect with melon, pears or strawberries. Perrone is one of the benchmarks, if not the benchmark for Moscato d’Asti. While many producers make Moscato as an aside with their attention on Barbera or Nebbiolo, Moscato is Perrone’s focus Stefano Perrone is a former motorcycle racer who took over his father’s domaine in 1989. He works with many north-facing sites (for freshness) and severely limits his yields.
“Stefano Perrone remains a reference-point producer for Moscato.”
