Equal parts Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, all farmed organically. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks and barrels, and aged on lees for 5 years before disgorging. g/L dosage. Incredibly elegant reserve Champagne.
“The Grande Réserve will always be the ‘cuvée of my father’. It’s his favorite Champagne. In a way, I think that this cuvée tells his vision of Champagne," explains Vincent. The only blend cuvée of the range, which is the most common in Champagne, combines structure and finesse. With a touch of tension representative of the Treslon terroir.
Rich and toasty with lots of toasted bread, buttery brioche notes and roasted hazelnuts. Apple tart, poached pear and lemon zest, dried apricot fruit. Well balanced with chalky minerality and a saline finish. Very energetic acidity and mousse.
Maud and Vincent Lagille’s certified organic, 18 acre vineyard sits on the Treslon/Vrigny border, with all vines in walking distance of their small cellar. The Lagille family have been winegrowers in this corner of Champagne since the 1600’s, and the present-day cellar has been the family’s HQ since 1818. These are under-the-radar Champagnes- only six cases of this wine came to California!
