100% Nebbiolo from organic vineyards in Treiso. Made in the traditional Champagne method. Up to 65 months of lees aging before disgorgement! Zero dosage. Current proprietor Enrique Nada’s father Giuseppe brought this property from the Gaja family in 1900. Pours a pale salmon color and shows off aromatics of fresh bread, strawberries, raspberries, light floral notes and cream. Not as savory as one might have expected a Nebbiolo-based wine to be. Medium bodied, with medium + acidity. Bone dry. In 1964 Giuseppe’s father began bottling some of the family production on his own and built a small cellar in order to do so. A couple of years later the DOC of Barberesco was created and presto, the estate was now making wine in what would become one of Piedmont’s most famous wine regions.
