68% Pinot Noir and 32% Chardonnay from the Laird family’s Phantom Ranch vineyard in Carneros. Made in the Méthode Champenoise with 13 months tirage. 12.5% alcohol. On the nose, it offers enticing aromas of fresh strawberries, raspberries, and hints of citrus zest, complemented by subtle floral notes. The palate is lively and refreshing, with flavors of red berries, crisp green apples, and a touch of brioche from the lees aging process. Fairly subtle and restrained- not something we often say about the Laird wines! Fruity, dry and crisp. The Laird Family are the largest landowners in Napa, but they sell 95% of their fruit to other big name wineries, keeping only their favorite parcels to themselves to make these wines under their own family name.
