NV Lancelot-Pienne 'Accord Majeur' Brut

70% Pinot Meunier, 15% Chardonnay, 15% Pinot Noir from 40 parcels with an average age of 55 years, all certified sustainable. It’s an accord (“major agreement”) between three grapes and three terroirs—Chardonnay and Meunier from the Côteaux Sud, and Pinot Noir from the Marne Valley. Aged for five years on the lees. The base vintage here is 2015, and reserve wines come from a solera started in 1998. 5 g/L dosage. 700 cases made. Expressive aromas of waxy citrus fruit, pear and nectarine, hints of freshly baked bread and warm biscuits, it’s medium to full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping, with brisk acids and a pillowy mousse. Concluding with a chalky finish, this is drinking brilliantly out of the gates but should also age with grace. Lancelots have been growers for over 120 years and became a Récoltant-Manipulant in the post WWII era.
